Grain Bin Supply Company is active in sales and construction of grain bins, grain legs, and dryers in several states across the Midwest, Mid-South, and High Plains. Ken and Martha Knuppel opened Grain Bin Supply Company in Cairo Mo in 2006. Since then they have added two more locations. Vandalia, Missouri in 2011, and Aurora Iowa in 2017.
The Knuppel family has been in the grain bin business since the early 1960’s. Ken's Dad sold new Superior bins and moved used bins in central Illinois, Ken began helping his dad with bin construction at age 4. In 1994 Ken and Martha, along with Ken's Dad, began business in partnership in Jacksonville, Missouri which later became known as Knuppel’s LLC. The business consisted of buying and selling used bins and relocating bins for customers. A typical year at that time would be to put up, or relocate 85-90 bins per year. Ken says it was the best possible education for a career in the bin business as he got to work with all different brands of bins, all different manner of floors, stirring machines, grain spreaders, unload systems, etc. “I got a chance to see how things were put together and what did and didn’t work.To this day when a customer calls me and describes what he has and what he needs, I don’t need a book- I can visualize it, and know how it is put together.” In 1998 Knuppel's LLC began selling new GSI bins, M-C dryers, and Sukup grain handling accessories. Later, in 2001, when Sukup Manufacturing began manufacturing grain bins, Knuppel’s LLC became a charter bin dealer. Knuppel’s LLC continued doing business through 2006. In 2007 Ken and Martha Knuppel formed Grain Bin Supply Company LLC, where they continue to provide quality Sukup grain bins and grain handling equipment, and a host of other products, service and construction.
Kaleena Knuppel has been the Office sales manager for Grain Bin Supply at the Vandalia, Mo location, since 2016. She was raised in the bin business and has spent many hours in the construction of grain bins. She is familiar with the way they go together and the different parts needed to complete a project. She lives in a community near, Vandalia Mo.
Nolan Knuppel is carrying on the family bin construction tradition. Being raised in the midst of a farming community, and trained in the grain bin business, he has been the lead project construction manager since 2015. In Jan of 2018, Nolan married Loralee (Miller) Knuppel, a beautiful dental hygienist, with extensive family background in dairy farming. They live in the Cairo community, and plan to continue in the family business.
Joel Knuppel, Bryan Knuppel, and Savannah Knuppel, who are still in school help in the construction as time allows. Sarah Knuppel, and Sarah's daughter Ava (Ken and Martha's granddaughter) also help construct bins through the summer.
